Media24

Louis Eksteen and Kim Browne created UCM (UpperCase Media, a Media24/Emap Company) in 1999 as a joint venture between SA's number one magazine group Media24, in the Naspers stable, and Emap plc, the UK's premier magazine publishing company. The first magazine brand launched was FHM. Within four years FHM was the number one selling men's lifestyle magazine in the country. With its circulation now close to 100 000, it's left clear water between it and the former leader in the market, Men's Health. In March 2004, UCM launched the upmarket, glossy celebrity weekly title heat, adding a high-circulation brand to the established but still fast-growing FHM. heat has shown a steady growth and has more than doubled its circulation since launch.
